If you need a home inspection ClearVue is the place to call. Ryan Pigg was our inspector on a new home being built. He was excellent. Very detailed and explained what he found in a manner we could easily understand. Super nice guy!

Pre-Drywall Inspection FAQs

1. When should I schedule the inspection?

Contact us before the builder plans to install drywall. The relevant rough-ins should be sufficiently complete and exposed for the agreed inspection.

2. What does the inspection cover?

It reviews accessible framing and applicable electrical, plumbing and HVAC rough-ins within the agreed scope.

3. Do I need my builder’s permission?

Arrange authorized access with your builder or site representative. We also need to understand any site requirements before attending.

4. Does this replace the builder’s or local authority’s inspections?

No. It is an independent inspection and does not replace required construction inspections or approvals.

5. What happens if the builder changes the schedule?

Let us know as soon as possible. We will discuss availability and whether the inspection can still take place before concealment.

6. Can you inspect areas already covered by drywall?

Covered components cannot be visually assessed in the same way. We document relevant access limitations.

7. Will I receive a report to share with the builder?

Yes. The report documents observed findings with supporting photographs.

8. Will you arrange repairs with the builder?

The inspection identifies observed concerns. You or your representative should discuss correction arrangements directly with the builder.

9. Is a return visit included?

A return visit is a separate scheduling and scope question. Ask us to confirm availability and pricing if you want identified items reviewed again.

10. Do I still need an inspection when construction is finished?

A final inspection reviews components and operation that may not be complete at the pre-drywall stage. The two inspections serve different purposes.
